SARAH WEAVER is a New York-based experimental composer, conductor, and technologist working internationally as a specialist in network music. Pauline Oliveros was a formative mentor to Weaver in immersive study of Deep Listening 2002-2008 and beyond, and introduced Weaver in 2006 to telematic music (live performance via the internet by musicians in different geographic locations). Weaver’s music incorporates a synthesis of genres including jazz, classical, world, contemplative, and computer music. Recording releases include the SLM Ensemble album Source (Liminal Music) co-directed with Mark Dresser; Universal Synchrony Music telematic music with NASA Kepler/K2 Mission sonification in the DVD Virtual Tours: A Reduced-Carbon Footprint Concert Series (pfMENTUM), and SLM for telematic bass ensemble by Dresser and Weaver in the CD/DVD Deep Tones for Peace (Kadima Collective). Weaver has music degrees from University of Michigan, New York University, and is currently advanced in her PhD at Stony Brook University (SUNY).
