Rain Dance

I feel so fortunate to have been invited to create a work for the occasion of Pauline Oliveros’ 85th birthday. Rain Dance is comprised of a video of rain falling on a car’s windshield. Participants are asked to view the video while improvising to it, and to respond to the fall of the raindrops, the movement of the water on the windshield, the movement of the trees in the background, as well as the ebb and flow of the sound of the rain. They are invited to interpret the entire image or a portion of the image.
