PHILIP GELB is a shakuhachi player, teacher and vegan chef. His catering business, Sound & Savor, has for 11 years hosted dinner/concerts, featuring some of the worlds greatest musicians in a very intimate space, paired with gourmet, hand crafted vegan cuisine. He worked for many years, closely with Pauline Oliveros, doing duet concerts as well as many concerts as a trio (The Space Between) with Pauline and pianist, Dana Reason. The Space Between released 3 cds with special guest bass players, Joëlle Léandre, Barre Phillips and Matthew Sperry. Pauline Oliveros wrote the foreword to his first cookbook, Notes from an Underground Restaurant: Improvisations Through Music and Food, released in 2016.
