SHELLEY BURGON is a performing composer and sound artist based in the US. Her work focuses on the sound of the harp as a traditional acoustic instrument in a chamber setting and as the primary sound source for her electronic music and sound art. Shelley performs on harp and laptop in the chamber group Ne(x)tworks featuring Joan La Barbara and is a member of various Anthony Braxton projects with the most recent being his ZIM Music Sextet. She composes and performs her own ambient, ethereal, electronic music solo under the name Rowan and as the duo Early Forms and Surfaces with guitarist Neil Harrison. She is a sought after interpreter of new  music with a focus on indeterminate music and the classical avant-garde. Her music has been commissioned by The Merce Cunningham Dance Company for the Hudson Valley Project at the Dia Museum, Ne(x)tworks chamber ensemble for the MATA Festival and choreographer Katherine Behar.
